Could You Benefit From Sleeping in an Adjustable Bed?

What is the best adjustable bed

Did you know that sleeping on your side can actually cut off your blood circulation and hamper your breathing? Many people don’t actually know it, but traditional mattresses are not often conducive to promoting good health, and can actually deter people from getting a good night of sleep. On that note, if you have problems sleeping at night on your traditional bed, switching to an adjustable bed may actually help you sleep better at night.

Adjustable beds come in a number of different mattress types, including memory foam. There are sort of like handicap beds, in that they can be manipulated into a plethora of different comfortable positions, unlike traditional mattresses. With an adjustable bed, there are literally thousands of comfortable positions for you to sleep or lounge in. A telling sign that you might be a candidate for an adjustable bed is if you typically sleep in a recliner chair instead of a bed because you find the former more comfortable than the latter.

Sleeping on an adjustable bed may help to alleviate lower back pain, poor circulation, mild arthritis, problems sleeping, and edema and swelling of the legs. Edema is a medical condition in which the legs and feet swell up from accumulated fluids and become painful. Though there is no guarantee that handicap beds can help to alleviate problems with sleeping or lead to a better night of sleep, many people have benefitted greatly from switching to an adjustable bed.

Interestingly, the National Sleep Foundation recommends that individuals take short naps that are no longer than 10 to 20 minutes to remain well rested throughout the day. Unfortunately, many people have jobs that don’t allow them to nap regularly throughout the day. For those people, switching to an adjustable bed may lead to a better night of sleep.

When people sleep better on a regular basis, they are generally happier, healthier, and more productive. In a more comfortable bed, people can get to sleep quicker and even stay asleep longer, meaning it is of vital importance to find a bed that works for you if you want to be as happy, healthy, and productive as you can be.
