3 Mentalities Towards Donating and How to Make it a Better Experience
Donating can either be a burden or a blessing, depending on how you view it. There are several ways that you could look at donating, whether it’s with American red cross donations or the Salvation Army or some other kind of charity. Here are a few viewpoints that people have. Some are negative and summer positive. Try and see where you fit in and how you could make donating a more positive experience.
I feel guilty about throwing clothes away.
These kinds of people don’t really understand all the good that clothing donations do. When you donate clothes to Red Cross, they are helping so many people. But those of us that only donate because we feel bad throwing our clothes away don’t really see those in need as real people. It’s more about how they feel rather than helping families in need with American red cross donations. Even though this kind of person doesn’t get much out of donating, they are still donating and that is appreciated. In all reality, as long as people continue to donate, it doesn’t really matter how they feel about it or why they are doing it. However, keep in mind that the reason you donate will completely change your donating experience. If you only donate because you feel guilty throwing away perfectly good clothes, try to think about the people who will be receiving your clothes so that you can see the good you were doing instead of only easing your own guilt.
I want to change the world.
These kinds of people get the most out of donating. They know that they want to do something good in their lives and they want to make a difference to other people. American red cross donations does exactly that. They change lives and the people that donate because they want to change the world know that the world will only change when the people start to change. It’s these kinds of people that organizations like the American Red Cross are looking for. They tend to live their lives in such a way that they can be a blessing to others. They are always looking at their things and wondering what they can do without so that someone else doesn’t have to. Being others focused is what is going to make the world a better place, one person at a time. If you donate because you want to change the world, you will find such joy and satisfaction in donating because you know that you were accomplishing your goal. This is the best kind of mentality to have towards donating.
I’ve never thought about donating before.
If you have never thought about donating before then that is probably because you don’t know anybody that does it. If your family or friends or people all around you do not donate then it’s not typically something that would cross your mind. These kinds of people are neither negative not positive, they are simply uninformed. If you fall into this category then it might be a good idea for you to go online and look into organizations and charities and find out which one most closely resembles your beliefs or values. When you find something you believe in it becomes a lot more important to donate because you understand why you were doing it. This is important because unless you believe in the cause, you will not be able to help it. After you start donating, you can then inform your friends and family and help them make the switch to donating as well. Being able to change somebody’s mentality for the better is one of the most positive things you can do for mankind.
Donating is more important than you may realize. If you or some one you know falls more into the first or last category of thinking, then do what you can to bring them to the middle section. This way, those that give items can benefit from American Red Cross donations just as much as those who are going to be receiving them. If you can have a correct mode of thinking, donating becomes so much more than just getting rid of your unwanted things.
